I came across this Books of Adam webcomic recently and it immediately spoke to me. Why? I've had friends razz me for my spoken word nerdery or my love of Raptors ball, and in the past week I've seen too many Facebook posts of people drinking some super-sized Hatorade over Pokemon Go.
It's an age-old problem but it rears its head too often: Some folks can't wrap their heads around the hobbies and passions that others love. Just because someone can't relate to someone else, doesn't mean they should criticize that person's personal proclivities. Yes, free speech, blah blah, but why expend energy on denigrating what inspires and entertains other people, when there are so few hours in the day? Why not spread some positive vibes rather than get all negative?
So let's open our minds to what puts a smile on someone's face, and, as the comic says, let people enjoy things.
